Canyon County

Serving the Citizens of Canyon County Since 2010

I was born and raised in Southwest Idaho. The foundation of my youth was built on family, faith, and service to my community.  These building blocks are what drives me to be a prosecutor.

It’s important to me that my family and I have a beautiful community outside our door to recreate and enjoy a safe environment.  Whether it’s a walk along Indian Creek in downtown Caldwell, or enjoying the beautiful mountains of Idaho, there’s nothing more rewarding than knowing that my children are being provided with the same foundation that I had as a child while I get to professionally service my community and do my part to make Canyon County a great place to live.

Since 2010 I’ve worked diligently to build the trust of the citizens of Canyon County as their Prosecutor’s Office by being transparent and available. I believe in building strong relationships between my Office, the public, law enforcement, the judiciary, and other elected and appointed officials throughout our jurisdiction. Communication is the key to effective prosecution, law enforcement and local government.

At the Canyon County Prosecutor’s Office we have a philosophy centered on community oriented prosecution. Our mission is to protect the community and facilitate a well-functioning County government by pursuing justice and providing accurate and ethical counsel with dedication, courage, and integrity.  On both the Criminal and Civil sides of my Office, we try to engage our clients and the citizens of Canyon County in solving problems before they become crises.

As Prosecutor, I encourage the attorneys in my Office to be involved in public service outside their roles as prosecutors, while their individual contributions are too numerous to list, we are truly focused on the community.  I believe strongly in providing ongoing education to my deputies and staff, and our public that promotes mutual respect for the different functions each agency in our County provides.

In this same vein, my position as Prosecutor has given me the opportunity to combine my passion for education with meaningful pro bono work for the American Bar Association where I’ve been able to help spread the principles of the American justice system in countries whose legal systems are developing.

I am a native Idahoan who grew up on a farm just outside of Kuna.  I was always taught that through hard work, dedication, courage, and integrity anything could be accomplished.  My family also instilled me with the Idahoan principles of helping others and speaking up for those who could not speak for themselves.  I believe it is this upbringing that lead me to becoming a prosecuting attorney.

As a Prosecutor, I am able to make the community of Canyon County a better and safer place to live. This is extremely important to me because I want my wife, children, and family to enjoy the greatness that is Idaho.  Because I want my children to have the same opportunity I did to learn that hard work, dedication, courage and integrity make anything possible.
