Prior to being elected as Prosecuting Attorney, I served Teton County as Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney. In this role, I mainly handled felony criminal cases for the office. Before moving to Teton County, I worked for just over six years as a litigator at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP and Seward & Kissel LLP in New York City. There, I handled criminal and regulatory investigations and complex commercial cases, with a short foray into restructuring litigation. Aside from my paying work, I spent a lot of my free time providing pro-bono legal services to individuals in need. I represented indigent clients in numerous criminal matters in the Southern District of New York and Bronx Criminal Court. In 2018, I worked with Lawyers Without Borders in Tanzania helping train prosecutors and judges on the prosecution of human trafficking cases. In my spare time, (which I admittedly don’t have much of these days) I am an outdoor enthusiast and love to horseback ride, ski and hike. I also enjoy spending time with friends, family, and my four horses and Bernese Mountain Dog, Zoe.

To be quite honest, my role as Teton County Prosecuting Attorney is currently a 24/7/365 job and I don’t have as much time as I would like for additional community involvement. That said, in my role as Prosecuting Attorney, I frequently meet with students at the local middle school and high school to give presentations on the criminal justice system and issues that arise at the schools, such as substance abuse, underage sexual activity and the like. I also work closely with local non-profit organizations to promote victims’ rights and improve the resources available to crime victims in Teton Valley. If and when I find myself with more free time, I plan to get involved with the local meal delivery program for the disabled and start a therapeutic horseback riding program for crime victims and other youth in need of support.

There are few roles where you can positively impact individuals and a community to the extent that you can as a prosecutor. I love the Teton Valley community and love that I get to spend my days improving it and helping people here, both victims and perpetrators. It is an intellectually challenging job, and one that allows room for creativity in the means to best accomplish justice and bring about positive change.
