Ross Pittman

Serving the Citizens of Payette County Since 2016

WHAT SHOULD YOU KNOW ABOUT ME?

My family has been in Payette County for generations and I returned to Payette area in 2016, to raise my own family because of the closeness and safety of the community.  The County's rich agricultural history remains the backbone of the county today. I enjoy the farming and ranching lifestyle and want my boys to grow up in that tradition. When I'm not in the courtroom, you may find me on my stand-up paddleboard on the Payette River, pheasant hunting, hiking, irrigating or taking in a ball game.

HOW AM I INVOLVED IN MY COMMUNITY?

I am currently serving on the Idaho Prosecuting Attorneys Association board of directors representing the Third Judicial District. I volunteer with and contribute to local politics and campaigns.  I am also active in my church and I support local athletics, Rose Advocates, 4-H and FFA.

WHY DID I BECOME A PROSECUTOR?

I became a prosecutor right out of law school in 2009 because I wanted to be on the right side with the "good guys." Prosecutors are in the unique position to seek justice.  As a criminal prosecutor, I'm not bound by a client's interest, instead I can focus solely on reaching the best outcome of a case that preserves the safety of our community.  I have many options at my disposal to keep the community safe, however, I don't think all those options apply in every case.  It's a new challenge every day to find the best ways to protect society. Its a great honor and a great responsibility to represent the people of Payette County in court, on a daily basis.
