Serving the Citizens of Gooding County Since 2016
I am dedicated to serving the people of Gooding and Camas counties, to ensure justice for the people. The power given to us by the people is one we try to exercise with fairness, humility and an eye toward the best interests of the County as a whole.
My job is twofold, protect the people from criminals and ensure that criminals are held accountable for their actions. In holding people accountable, it is our hope that we can recommend sentences that not only serve to protect the people, but will help the criminal cease criminal activity and encourage others not do follow the criminal’s example.
The Prosecuting Attorney also serves as the legal advisor for the elected officials and department heads in the County.
We strive to serve the needs of the people, support victims and families and hold people accountable when they commit unlawful acts. It is our goal to serve the people’s interests in a community oriented way that protects the citizenry while discouraging future crime.
Personally, I love the outdoors. Whether gardening at home, fishing, hunting, or golfing - the area is a treasure trove of outdoor fun.
I have served as a board member on Voices Against Violence for 10 years. In cooperation with Hagerman Schools and the Gooding Sheriff's Office, we brought the NRA School Shield Program here to train our teachers and law enforcement how to best deal with school shootings. I am also working to get a community center in Gooding County to help work with children after school on their education and athletics, as well as keeping them drug free. We are setting up peer monitoring groups and informational services in the schools to try to help children in need before they become a part of the legal system. I have just started the Gooding County Prosecutor’s Drug Free Scholarship for Gooding County seniors attending CSI.
I had often thought that I would come out of law school and make bags and bags of money in personal injury working for and with the successful lawyers I knew in the field. However, that all changed when I interned at a prosecutor's office between my 2nd and 3rd years. I was one of the only people in my class to win a jury trial. Besides that, the work of getting up every day, knowing that you were going to do the right thing for the right reason and be the protector and defender of the people really appealed to me. I knew from that moment, being a prosecutor was the only choice for me.
I thank the people of Gooding and Camas Counties for trusting me with this responsibility and look forward to continue to be your gatekeeper for Justice.
