Serving the Citizens of Ada County Since 2014
I was blessed to grow up on a cattle ranch in central Idaho with my parents and three brothers as well as with grandparents who lived nearby. I learned about hard work and integrity from my parents. I try each day to honor their lessons. I recall fondly working on the ranch, changing irrigation pipes, driving cows or going out into the field in the middle of the night during calving season to check on calves with my dad. Those were also times I contemplated how I could make a positive difference in the world. I went to the University of Idaho and then on to law school because I decided that the law was the best way for me to give back to the community. It is the people I work with and the people we serve, the residents of Ada County, who make me love being the Ada County Prosecutor.
It has been my honor to assist in the creation of the FACES of Hope Victim Center, which serves vulnerable crime victims by making a variety of services, such as counseling, safety planning, medical care and forensic exams, available in one location. FACES provides services and an environment that treats victims with dignity and respect. My office plays a vital role in the operations of FACES. I also partnered with many stakeholders to assist in the creation of the Ada County Magistrate Domestic Violence Court. I am pleased to serve on the Executive Board for the Women’s and Children’s Alliance. I was appointed by the Governor to sit on the Peace Officer Standards & Training Council and I am also a Board Member of Idaho Prosecuting Attorneys Association for the Fourth Judicial District. I take every opportunity to share my love of the law by teaching prosecutors, members of the Idaho State Bar, law enforcement, the media, law school students, and community groups.
It is a privilege to serve my community as your Ada County Prosecuting Attorney. I am deeply committed to keeping our community safe, giving victims a voice and serving with the dedicated men and women in my office who are tireless in representing and serving our community. The mission of the Ada County Prosecutor’s Office is to maintain public safety, in partnership with law enforcement, seek justice for all, represent Ada County in civil matters, and strengthen the quality of life in Ada County with the highest standards of ethics, integrity, compassion, dignity, and hope. Our mission includes being advocates for Ada County citizens and crime victims; holding offenders accountable for their harmful actions; and supporting victims and their families from the crime scene to the courtroom. My dedication to serving my community drives me to work hard each day to fulfill that mission.
